How do Try Dives work?
Try dives are available most weeks at our regular training pool at Pershore Leisure Centre. Almost anyone over the age of 12 can do a try dive.
A try dive can help you save time and money by finding out in advance if you like diving. It gives you the opportunity to try our exciting sport and to gain an insight into the fascinating world of scuba.
Each try dive is about an hour in duration, including poolside tuition on diving techniques and equipment. The dive is with a BSAC qualified instructor to make sure you get maximum enjoyment from the experience.
What do I need to do a try dive?
▪ Minimum age: 12 years
▪ An optional t-shirt to wear in water
▪ Any mask or fins you may already have, but we can supply these
▪ And… a sense of fun and adventure !
Are there any restrictions?
The only requirements are that you have no known significant medical problems (especially heart conditions, serious ear or sinus problems, lung damage, asthma, fits or epilepsy). If you have any questions about medical restrictions please contact us before hand to discuss them.
What’s next after a try dive?
If you enjoy the experience and want to take things to the next level, you can join the club and start training with us. Your first step is to work toward becoming a BSAC Ocean Diver. This is a scuba qualification that will help you witness first hand the wonders of coral reefs and the host of marine life they support, underwater wrecks, in fact a whole new world for you to explore here in the UK and overseas on our many club trips. It also qualifies you to dive anywhere in the world.
Can I give someone a try dive as a present?
ESAC can organise a try dive as a Birthday, Christmas, Thank-you, Congratulations or whatever the occasion may be. Contact us for further information and we will make all the arrangements for you. We also work with local organisations to make try dives available as experiences.
Try-dives cost £15.
