Perhaps you learned to dive on holiday? Or with another club and began your scuba diving training or have trained with another agency (PADI, SSI, SAA, ScotSAC, NAUI, RAID) ESAC welcomes you! Other agency qualifications are recognised and no further training is necessary unless you’d like to progress with more advanced diver training.
You can just start diving with a ESAC on your existing PADI (or other agency) qualification today!
ESAC can support you with if you would like to further your training with a more advanced scuba certification, your diver grade is recognised so you can progress to the next higher BSAC grade (no need to retrain, you can simply progress).
I am a PADI Advanced Diver, what does this in BSAC terms?
BSAC recognises all qualifications achieved from other agencies but whilst the diver grade skill set is recognised, not all equivalent grades will meet the same autonomous depth qualifications. BSAC have a equivalent scuba qualifications chartto assist.
What about instructor crossover and progression?
While other agency divers and instructors can dive with BSAC without any further training necessary, instructors will have to take a crossover course if they would like to start teaching BSAC courses.
If you want to refresh your skills, then of course we will support you fully.
I qualified as a PADI Open Water diver in Bali (yes, really) and since then I’ve dived most holidays. Along the way I picked up PADI Advanced Open Water and Nitrox certifications, but I was always really out of practice when I went back into the water and this spoiled my enjoyment. I initially started on the entry-level Ocean Diver course with ESAC, but after a few sessions my instructor felt my skills were good enough to go for Sports Diver. I needed to pick up rescue skills, but learning those was really rewarding. Joining my local club was a big win from every perspective.
